Atlanta Braves' Ozzie Albies to Start Rehab Assignment in Jacksonville
Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies is set to begin a rehab assignment with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, the Braves' Double-A affiliate, on Tuesday, August 8.
Albies Has Been Out Since June 13
Albies has been out of action since June 13 after suffering a broken foot in a game against the Chicago Cubs.
He had surgery on June 15 and has been rehabbing at the Braves' spring training facility in North Port, Florida.
Albies is hoping to return to the Braves sometime in September.
The Braves are currently in first place in the National League East, and Albies' return would be a big boost to their lineup.
Albies is a two-time All-Star and was a key part of the Braves' World Series run in 2021.
